Welcome to St Peter’s!

Whether you have been a part of St Peter’s for a short time or many years, you will hopefully have received a warm welcome into the community which has been worshipping God in this place for well over a thousand years. People have been welcomed into the world, been married or been mourned within the walls of this building and have lived lives within the sound of its bells, with Jesus Christ, and faith in God’s love seen in Him, and through Him, at the core of everything that happens.

There have been many times, over the centuries, where the Church has been in a crisis of one kind or another – but the Church is still here and thriving! The reason for this has been that those who have been a part of St Peter’s have had a sense of belonging to something alive, vibrant and active in the community, and have always sought to invest in the work, seeking to bless the generations that follow with the resources to grow stronger, healthier and wider, on into the future.

And now it is our turn!

St Peter’s has a Vision to Go Deeper, to Seek God and Reach Out, and these pages aim to invite you to invest in the fulfilling of this Vision, not just for the generations to come, but for the community and people of Yateley, here, now, today.

Frequently Asked Questions

Over recent years, St Peter’s has often had one-off calls to respond to a perceived need. One of these was at Christmas 2024, when the hospital at Nebbi in Uganda, with whom we are linked, urgently needed a new water pump. In the space of just a few weeks, not just St Peter’s, but the community of Yateley, saw the need, and the Vision to respond, and gave over and above what was needed, so that just a month or so later, water was gushing out of a pipe thousands of miles away.

Our prayer is that God will enable you to similarly grasp the exciting Vision he has laid before us for St Peter’s and to enthusiastically embrace the opportunity to invest in what he is doing here. And, just as with the Ugandan pump, to see the wonderful results of what happens when people respond to God’s call!
