Worship

“Living the Kingdom” is an underlying aim at St Peter’s – the idea that we don’t have a form of spiritual double standards or schizophrenia but that our lives (warts and all) with Jesus at the centre, reflected in us, is what people see.

We strive to be more like Jesus but inevitably fall short (that’s what we call “sin”), meaning the need for being forgiven is always needed (see our page Being a Christian to find out more) so the more we engage with God in our daily lives, the more we grow. Meeting with others, to encourage them and be encouraged by them, is a vital part of this.

The ultimate aim is that our lives are always open to the Holy Spirit, to guide us, to equip us and make us more like Jesus, so that day by day, we live lives that show we love God and want to worship him (ie show his “worth-ship”.

We do this with our worship on a Sunday and you can find out about the different services that happen at St Peter’s here.

We do this through our network of Life Groups, where people get together in the week to talk about what God is teaching them, discuss a topic as part of our study series, and pray and encourage one another, Find out more here.

We do this through prayer, which is essentially the way we engage with God in our thoughts and words. Most of (probably all of us, if we are honest) wish we prayed more and so we want to encourage you with opportunities to explore this area of our relationship with God – click here to go to our prayer page.

We do this through a number of other groups, focussed on specific areas or needs, or people of a certain age or interest. Find out more on our Groups page.
