St Peter’s has a full programme of Easter Services, as we follow the path through the week, from the Last Supper on Thursday, to the Cross of Friday, to the glorious Empty Tomb of Sunday ….
Maundy Thursday
The day when we remember Jesus washing his friends feet, giving us the gift of Holy Communion, and talking about the work he was about to undertake.
Thursday 17th April @ 7pm – “The Night Before” – A quiet and reflective service of Holy Communion.
Good Friday
Good Friday – why is it “Good”? How can the remembrance of an innocent man, being executed in the cruellest way possible, being termed “Good”? Before Good Friday, the hope of life in God’s presence for ever relied on hoping that people were “good enough” and that a system of sacrifices would keep him happy. But at about 3pm on that first Good Friday, as Jesus cries out “it is finished”, the curtain in the Temple is ripped in two, as God makes the way possible – because Jesus has become the one, perfect sacrifice to end them all. It may be horribly messy, but it is Good. Please join us at some point today, to remember, to reflect and to give thanks.

Easter Sunday
Easter Sunday – the day of new life, new beginnings, new hope and total, utter joy! Dealing with the problem of sin, Jesus has been laid in a tomb and, for 36 hours, the world is lost and hopeless. And then, the Son Rises…
