We welcomed Rt Rev Pons Ozelle, the Bishop of Nebbi in Uganda, as part of the link between St Peter’s and Nebbi Diocese and on 18th July, +Pons, along with his wife Edna and two other representatives of Nebbi Diocese visited Cranford Park School in Yateley. Starting with an assembly, the Bishop talked about his life and work, with some wonderful searching questions from pupils in every year of the school. The Bishop then joined the headteacher, Tina Nowell and other staff and pupils, in a newly-created Prayer Garden, to open it and pray God’s blessing on all who used it. A specially made Cross (by Yateley’s Men’s Shed) with a plaque noting the occasion forms a centre piece of the garden, along with a giant flowerpot and the words “Let Your Light Shine”, the phrase which echoes through every part of the school. The visit ended with Bisho Pons painting a stone to add to the garden, as a permanent prayer for God’s blessing. A joyful and wonderful time!
