Mission Links
Sharing the love of Jesus in both word and action is something that followers of Jesus have done ever since the church began! It continues to be part of the DNA of the Church of England as a whole and part of St Peter’s vision.
The “Five Marks of Mission” are seen as …
- To proclaim the Good News of the Kingdom
- To teach, baptise and nurture new believers
- To respond to human need by loving service
- To seek to transform unjust structures of society, to challenge violence of every kind and to pursue peace and reconciliation
- To strive to safeguard the integrity of creation and sustain and renew the life of the earth.
The ten organisations listed below all seek to express these Marks of Mission, in one way or another, and in different ways, according to the context and nature of their work. Everybody can be involved in this work by praying for, and giving to, organisations that both proclaim the Good News of Jesus and also support the poor, vulnerable or oppressed. Some organisations do both.
St Peter’s supports ten charities, some in the UK and some overseas that do this.
Please explore the linked pages and find which one, or ones, excite you and see how you might get more involved.
